Dr. Carina Crucho is an Assistant Researcher at the NOVA School of Science and Technology, NOVA University of Lisbon, where she conducts research at the intersection of organic chemistry and nanotechnology, with a focus on biomedical applications.
Previously, she held a postdoctoral position at the Institute for Bioengineering and Biosciences (iBB), Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon. Alongside her research, Carina has also taught practical organic chemistry at the Lisbon School of Health Technology (Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon), where she shared her passion for hands-on science with future healthcare professionals.
Carina has been actively involved in the chemistry community. She served as a board member of the Young Chemists Group (GQJ) of the Portuguese Chemical Society (SPQ) and was the Treasurer and Portuguese Delegate of the European Young Chemists Network (EYCN). In these roles, she championed networking among young chemists across Portuguese research institutions and represented their interests at the European level.
